Our pumpkin run was fantastic and the weather was beautiful! So great to be outside with our students enjoying the moments we can be together. Thank you to Save-On-Foods for supporting this annual event (donating 24 pumpkins!). The pumpkins went home and were carved into Jack-o-lanterns!!!!
Halloween was one of the best dress up days we have seen at Howay!!!! The students and staff enjoyed each others costumes and fun class activities kept up with the spirit of the day. The Halloween parade was great fun and the outside event was just as successful as our annual assembly.
Next week students will begin taking books home from the library. At this time students will only be taking one book out to help manage our guidelines for cleaning and shelving books.
Dressing for West Coast Weather
It will be very rare that we have an inside day at Howay. Please make sure that students are prepared for all types of weather – rain, snow, cold rain, heavy rain, drizzles and wind! We will be outside in all types of weather!! Please pack boots, gloves, rain/winter jackets and umbrellas to help your child stay warm during the fall and winter months. It is also important that your child has a change of clothes for these rainy days as most students at some point need to change their socks and pants.
Remembrance Day Assembly
Each division will participate virtually from classrooms. The assembly will still be a live school event as we will connect classrooms through MS Teams.
We will be collecting donations for poppies on Mon., Nov. 9th and Tues. Nov. 10th. All donations will go to The Royal Canadian Legion.
