May 25 Updates
Howay staff and students have been working with “Wild Schools” for the 2020/2021 school year. A program that supports schools with environmental teaching, learning and experiences focused on BC’s biodiversity. This school year we have been fortunate to be working with a Wild School facilitator, Murray McLeod, on “Project WET (Water Education for Teachers)”.
Thank you Murray for visiting our school on May 13th and working with our primary classes. It was a great day and all the staff and students enjoyed their outside learning. Students explored how water must be transported from its source in nature to our houses for us to use it in our daily activities.
Teacher for a Day
Ms. Sidhu has been strengthening our Grade 4/5 student’s leadership skills during Physical Health Education. Div. 1 and 2 students have an opportunity to be “Teacher for a Day” where they work on presenting and teaching new games and activities to their peers. Check out this fun and creative way a few of our students set up and taught pickleball!
